Moon Milk

MOON MILK - is a modern take on the ancient AYURVEDIC practice of drinking warm milk with honey and spices before going to sleep at night. Hence, the cosmic name.

There are dozens of ways to make moon milk. Here is a template, so you can create your own blend that suits your particular needs on any given day.

MOON MILK TEMPLATE

  • 1 Cup of Plant Milk - your choice. I like using cashew, almond, oat or coconut milk

  • 1 TSP Sweetener - the options with the lowest glycemic index include birch sugar (xylitol) and stevia while maple syrup, coconut blossom sugar, and honey should be used more sparingly, they also provide additional health benefits What about Agave?

  • 1 TSP - 1 TB Herbal Powder - depending on what your emotional and physical state and the season you’re currently in, this can include one or a blend of ashwagandha, maca, shatavari, reishi, turmeric, cacao, rose, ginger, cardamom and countless others*

  • 1 TSP Healthy Fat such as unrefined coconut oil or organic ghee

INSTRUCTIONS

Blend all ingredients until smooth, gently heat (be careful not to boil, as this can destroy beneficial plant properties, and optionally serve with a sprinkle of cacao, rose or wild blueberry powder. It’s really up to you - the idea is tune in and make your own personalized creation based on what your body and emotional state feels like. Have fun making your very own moon milk & ENJOY!
