Sprouts & Microgreens: Part 1

It dawned on me recently that even though plants have become an integral part of modern life in terms of plant-based nutrition, herbalism, urban gardening, etc. , it’s not very common that people grow sprouts and microgreens in their home. Even though they are hands down the easiest, quickest, freshest, and cheapest way to integrate more plant power into our diet, they just haven’t gotten the attention they deserve, even among health buffs and nutritionists. Well, this is about to change…

While I’ve grown sprouts at home for the last several years and dabbled with growing my own wheatgrass to add to my smoothies, I hadn’t yet fully delved into the sprouting world, until last month when I decided to commit to learning and integrating more of these little green beauties of my life.

In this spirit, I signed up for a coaching program with renowned sprouting expert and author on two seminal sprouting books, AngelikA Fürstler, to really dive in and discover not only how to grow sprouts and microgreens, but also how to integrate them into our lives. And that is exactly what I want to share with you, so tune in to future blog articles. The next instalments will go over what you need to get started to grow your own sprouts and microgreens at home and a review of sprouting equipment and seed resources.

Green Love!
